    The club is made up of a great bunch of guys paving the way for upcoming cyclists, at all stages in their journey of road cycling. I really enjoy the coffee and clocking up the kilometres as a group

  • It helps give me some “me time”

    My name is Alan and I’m 48. I’m a married father of 3 boys. I have lived in Ballymun for over 40 years. I got involved in The Recovery Road Cycling Club at the start, in 2021 and have enjoyed it massively.  It helps give me some “me time” from my busy schedule of work and parenting and also a healthy way to catch up and interact with others. It also helps with my physical fitness and is definitely good for the head.

  • Cycling is the freedom

    I joined the club when it first started. Usually I’m the one who cycles at the back so that no one is left on their own. I’m doing a bicycle maintenance course with the hope that I can help out if there are any problems with the bikes. I suppose what I like most about the cycling is the freedom and the places we cycle to is like another world sometimes.

  • Find My Freedom: Embraced the road, enjoying the spin


    I’m Catrióna, part of BYAP. Cycling gives me ‘me time’, physical activity, and mental clarity. Road cycling brings challenges like weather, hills, and pot holes, but also laughter, coffee, and beautiful scenery. It’s an emotional rollercoaster, from serene fields to struggling uphill, to exhilarating downhill rides. Seeing people’s confidence grow through cycling is truly inspiring. The countryside and beach are easily accessible on a bike.

  • Empowering Journeys: Two decades of serving Ballymun, one Recovery at a time

    I have worked in the Ballymun Community for over 20 years and regard the Ballymun Recovery vision as being such a positive influence on so many people and their families.  It is a privilege to be able to be a part of the Recovery Road Cycling Club and to support that endeavor in any way possible.
